Mountain Time Villa: A Harmonious Blend of Art, Culture, and Nature

Yi Tonghua's Award-Winning Design Emphasizes Natural Elements and Cultural Influences

Yi Tonghua's inspiration for the Mountain Time Villa stemmed from the art of tie-dyeing. The space is adorned with beige stones, ethnic-style cloth, sea blue accents, and plain wood, all of which underscore the natural and tranquil ambiance. The villa's unique properties lie in its cozy wood-colored space, adorned with knitted artworks and unadorned wooden panels, evoking nostalgia and providing comfort.

The villa's realization involved a careful selection of contrasting styles and materials to create an intriguing spatial effect. The open dining room, for instance, features elegant ceramic tiles that complement the soft blue chairs. The hanging lights, linked by irregular wooden blocks, draw inspiration from the spires of North African Islamic churches, adding an exotic touch to the design.

With a project area of 125 square meters, the Mountain Time Villa is a testament to the designer's innovative use of space. The design incorporates bidirectional windows in the bedrooms to bring nature into the interior space, providing a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The design's focus on freedom and intimacy with nature is evident in every aspect, from the large glass doors and walls that offer stunning natural views to the intricate details inspired by North African decorative patterns.

The project, completed in June 2018, was not without its challenges. Creating a wooden nest in nature, surrounded by lush trees and shadows, required a delicate balance of design and engineering. However, the result is a space that allows occupants to enjoy beautiful natural views without leaving the house. The design's exotic and mysterious flavor is further enhanced by exquisite details such as the decorative patterns originating from North Africa.

Mountain Time Villa's design was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious accolade recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
